Self-Guided Course

This course is the perfect way to equip and train anyone involved in transition care - including those experiencing transition in their own lives. Explore different ways transition impacts individuals and families, and practical ways to work through potential struggles.

Six units with a total of 15 short videos are included in the course, along with reflective activities and handouts:

  4. When Transitions Don't Go as Planned
  5. Principles for a Healthy Transition
  6. Preventive Care during Transition


Parents, grandparents, educators, organizational leadership, short-term teams, and anyone else caring for TCKs will learn many useful ways to help these young people thrive throughout the transitions they face.

Lauren Wells

Chief Executive Officer
Lauren is the Founder and CEO of TCK Training and author of Raising Up a Generation of Healthy Third Culture KidsThe Grief Tower, and Unstacking Your Grief Tower. An Adult Third Culture Kid (ATCK) who spent her teenage years living in Tanzania, East Africa, Lauren has worked with over 1,000 parents and TCK caregivers and has trained staff from over 80 organizations. 

Tanya Crossman

Director of Research and International Education
Tanya is an Adult TCK from a business family, and a leading expert in the field of modern Third Culture Kids and issues facing cross-cultural families. Tanya has 18 years' experience in the field, including 13 years living in China and Cambodia. She is the author of Misunderstood: The Impact of Growing Up Overseas in the 21st Century (2016) and lead author of TCK Training's white papers.
