Caring for Less-Mobile TCKs: The Stayers

A common discussion in TCK circles is how to help TCKs manage the losses of continual mobility. However, for families who stay in one place for a long time, or perhaps a TCKs entire childhood, the TCK still experiences a “revolving door” of people due to the nature of TCK communities. The life of a “stayer” comes with a unique set of challenges and strengths that need recognition and care. This 90-minute workshop trains parents and caregivers in how to support TCKs who may develop deeper roots to one place overseas, while still navigating the struggles of the TCK experience.
