Tanya lived in both Australia and the US growing up, as the child of a tech executive, and later spent more than a decade living and working in China and Cambodia. Tanya has 20 years' experience in the field of TCKs and globally mobile families, a decade of that work centred on international schools. She designed both of TCK Training's large-scale surveys of TCK experience and is lead author of all seven research reports that followed. Tanya has worked with UN agencies including UNICEF, the World Food Programme, and UNFPA, alongside multinational companies, international schools, and other intercultural groups in 19 countries across five continents. She is the author of Misunderstood: The Impact of Growing Up Overseas in the 21st Century (2016), co-author of Thongs or Flip-Flops: Australian kids overseas and what comes next (2024). Tanya is available as a keynote speaker, workshop presenter, and trainer, both in-person and virtually.
