This certification allows professionals and laymen to use the Unstacking Method in various contexts. It gives a deep dive into the logistical framework of using the Grief Tower concept while also giving a foundation for the important knowledge-set and skills needed to help someone process grief in a safe and healthy way. 

Live training will only be offered once!

This first training will be offered as a live virtual cohort. In subsequent years it will be offered as a recorded virtual training that you can take at your own pace!

*This would include or be relevant to those supporting military personnel, diplomats & foreign service workers, missionaries, adult TCKs (those who grew up abroad), and more!

To maintain, this certification must be renewed every three years.
The first recertification course will be offered in 2028 for 2025 certified holders.

An Unstacking Method Certification means that the participant…

  • Has completed either 12 or 15 Hours of Training
    *Additional 3 hours for the optional Globally-Mobile Considerations add-on
  • Has received access to Unstacking Packet & materials
  • Maintains their knowledge by completing a recertification course every 3 years

Lauren Wells 

TCK Training - Chief Executive Officer

Lauren is the Founder and CEO of TCK Training and the Unstacking Company.  She is a sought after international keynote speaker whose expertise includes grief processing, Third Culture Kids, and preventive care. She is the author of Raising Up a Generation of Healthy Third Culture Kids, What Made That Feel So Hard: The Unstacking Method, and more. An Adult Third Culture Kid (ATCK), Lauren grew up between California and Tanzania, East Africa and now lives in Georgia with her husband and two children. 


Elizabeth Smith

TCK Training - Chief Operations Officer

Author of The Practice of Processing, Elizabeth is a skilled communicator and trauma-informed educator who helps transform abstract concepts into practical steps, equipping, encouraging, and empowering people to reach their goals. Elizabeth is a mom of two worldschooling TCKs.

Tanya Crossman

TCK Training - Director of Research & International Schools

Tanya Crossman grew up in Australia and the USA, and as an adult lived there as well as China and Cambodia; she lived in 14 houses, made nine international moves, (including three repatriations), and is about to embark on her 10th. She is a leading expert in the field of modern Third Culture Kids, Cross Cultural Kids, and issues facing cross-cultural families, with 16 years' experience in the field - most of that spent working with TCKs and families living in China. She is the author of Misunderstood: The Impact of Growing Up Overseas in the 21st Century and Thongs or Flip Flops?  Australian Kids Overseas and What Comes Next. Tanya has a bachelor's degree in Asian Studies from the Australian National University, a diploma of Mandarin Chinese from the Beijing Language and Culture University, and Master of Divinity degree from Sydney Missionary and Bible College. Jessi Bullis

TCK Training - Director of Adult TCK Services & Marketing

Jessi is an Adult TCK who grew up in Singapore, England, Turkey, and Germany. She has a heart and passion for TCKs and the unique struggles they face. She received her undergraduate in psychology and a seminary degree in counseling for the purpose of caring for TCKs well.
