Navigation Lab:
Setting your kids up for success at a new school

Starting at a new school can bring excitement, anxiety, withdrawal, acting out, or all of the above. What children need most during these transitions isn’t pressure to “just adjust,” but support that helps them feel safe, capable, and connected.

In this hands-on session, you’ll learn how to recognize what’s underneath your child’s transition struggles, how to respond in ways that build resilience instead of overwhelm, and how to create the conditions that help them settle and thrive. Then you’ll do the real work: applying this to your home, and your children.

You’ll leave with three tangible outcomes:

  • a personalized regulation plan for each child for moments when they feel overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally flooded
  • a practical resilience-building plan that stretches your child’s capacity without pushing them past their edge
  • a transition support plan for helping each child build confidence, connection, and a sense of belonging at their new school
