These sessions are not counseling or therapy. These sessions are focused on teaching and guiding, not providing any psychotherapeutic services, including diagnosis.
Our sessions would not be suitable for clients currently experiencing suicidal ideation, severe depression, self-harm, substance abuse, eating disorders or other dangerous coping skills. We recommend that TCKs struggling with these issues seek therapy. You can find some resources and databases of counselors who are TCK-informed here:

- Want to see how your childhood is impacting your adulthood experiences.
- Ready to do the hard work of unstacking your grief.
- Understand how delving into childhood grief blocks can cause tension on relationships.
- Aware that grief processing may be deeply emotional (bring tissues).

Recently (within the last 3 months) diagnosed with a mental health diagnosis.
- Currently living in an emotionally unsafe or unsupportive space.
- Currently experiencing intense or severe physical or emotional responses to grief or trauma.
- Currently experiencing (or has struggled in the last 3 months with) suicidal ideation, severe depression, self-harm, substance abuse, eating disorders or any other dangerous coping skills.

We want these sessions to be as beneficial as possible, so if you're experiencing any of the above circumstances or conditions coaching sessions are not right for you right now. We would need to know that the following things were in place to move forward with sessions:

You have a plan to manage your personality disorder or mental illness, and have been executing said plan for a month or more.
- You are currently meeting with a licensed therapist (6+ sessions with the same therapist)
- You have a Personal Safety Plan in place for if you experience triggers or emotional dysregulation. You can use our free one here.
If at any point we determine that coaching sessions are not what you need in this season, we will inform you and help point you toward services that will better meet your needs.
