2024 Features, Part 1

Our work and research (and staff!) were featured on a wide variety of blogs and podcasts throughout 2024! This is the beginning of a four-part series in which we will highlight features from throughout the year, organized by theme.

We're starting off with the theme of transition - a key part of our work and conversations, and our lives, really! In these three podcast episodes, you'll hear stories of goodbyes, adjustment, friendship, cultural adjustment - and how this impacts both young people and adults.

In this first episode of a two-part series, Tanya explains what a TCK is and discusses the TCK experience of transition to new countries and cultures, using her own story as an example. There is always transition, even if we are transitioning to somewhere familiar, because there are expectations. Hear a bit about the time and how grace is needed amidst the transition.

In this second episode of the two-part series, Tanya shares her own repatriation experience as well as the experience of TCKs more generally. Tanya shares data about how technology has impacted the transition experience of younger TCKs as well as how to support TCKs through the changes in transition.
