TCKs & Anxiety
Anxiety can show up differently for Third Culture Kids and adult TCKs, especially when life has required frequent adaptation, high awareness of others, and repeated transition.
We will explore how the TCK experience can shape the nervous system over time, why certain seasons (goodbyes, relocation, re-entry, conflict, performance pressure) can trigger disproportionate stress, and how anxiety can present as overthinking, perfectionism, people-pleasing, shutdown, or chronic restlessness.
This workshop offers a trauma-informed, research-grounded framework to help participants understand what their anxiety is communicating and build practical strategies for regulation, resilience, and sustainable support in everyday life.
